we are looking for 1 level 3 field service engineer
What does the apprenticeship involve?
The successful candidate will be working alongside an engineer on various installations of industrial doors across multiple sites around the Midlands area. The apprenticeship will involve:
- Developing knowledge of engineering materials.
- Following and interpreting technical drawings.
- Gain thorough knowledge and understanding of electrical components and their uses.
- Develop their ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and complex drawings.
- Carry out effective fault-finding on electrical systems.
- Maintain machines within the factory environment including scheduled maintenance and breakdowns.
- Learn how to commission and programme controllers.
Once the probation period is over you will placed on an NVQ training course to become a fully qualified Field Service Engineer. We are invested in continuous career development throughout your employment and a keen interest in engineering is crucial for this role. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will achieve a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications on completion of the apprenticeship
As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Level 3 MOET, Electromechanical pathway and will complete a level 3 in engineering technologies. You will also complete a level 3 diploma in Engineering Maintenance-EMG Lift Servicing.

To succeed, you will need
· A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English, Maths and a Science subject.
· Strong interpersonal skills, self-starting and motivated attitude with a curiosity to learn.
· A curiosity and ability to be adaptable to changing business requirements.
· Ability to absorb information, analyse problems, make fact-based decisions, and propose innovative solutions.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Keen eye for detail with excellent analytical, communication and presentational skills.

Be prepared to work in difficult conditions and potentially unsociable hours.
Adhere to the standard working hours 0800 – 1730 hrs (45hr week). Any deviation should agreed with your supervisor
