Are you looking to begin your career in finance while gaining a recognised qualification? The King’s School, Canterbury is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Assistant Apprentice to join our busy Finance Department.
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, as you will be supported to complete an Accounting Level 2 or 3 Qualification alongside developing practical skills and experience in a professional finance environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the Finance Team in delivering an efficient service to the school. You will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of finance and administrative tasks, including:

Processing purchase orders and invoices through the school’s finance systems
- Reconciling supplier statements and assisting with payments and staff expenses
- Supporting the Fees Ledger Manager with invoices, deposits, and transactions
- Administering box office receipts and recreation centre recharges
- Assisting with utility charge monitoring and trip account reconciliations
- Handling daily banking, petty cash, and foreign currency transactions
- General administration, such as scanning, filing, and responding to enquiries
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work closely with experienced colleagues who will support your learning and development.

No prior finance experience is required – full training will be provided.
Training and Development

You will study towards the Accounting Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship qualification, gaining technical knowledge to complement your on-the-job experience.
- You will be supported by both the Finance Team and external training providers to ensure your success.
