Salary range: Band 1 SCP 2-3 (£24,413 - £24,796 per annum)
Trafford council is a Living Wage Employer - this means that we pay all our staff a minimum of the Real Living Wage rate which is currently £12.60 per hour.
For any periods where our lowest hourly rate drops below the Real Living Wage rate applicable at the time, we provide an hourly supplement to increase pay to this level. This applies to staff who are on the lowest pay point of our Band 1 grade.

About the Role
We currently have an exciting developmental opportunity within our IT Procurement team.
Key duties will include:
Undertaking a development programme (on-site and off-site) including participation in required training and learning leading to a Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification.
Maintain accurate digital records and databases
Schedule appointments and manage calendars
Assisting with the raising and receipting of Purchase Orders, checking and processing of invoices, within in a timely manner
Assisting with the calculation and processing of recharges of certain costs back to the business; including hardware, software and telephony.
Assist with Freedom of Information requests
Other Ad Hoc duties as and when required by the team or managers
About you
This role is ideal for someone who is organised, eager to learn, and interested in a career in IT, procurement or administration within a Local Government environment. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience and work towards a recognised qualification in Business Administration.
You will have:

GCSE English and Maths (Grade 9-4) / A-D) or equivalent Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths

Must be able to meet the above, as a minimum requirement of the training provider to be able to access the Business Administration Apprenticeship programme.

Good knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel

An understanding of good customer service standards

Good attention to detail

Able to accept and deal with changing priorities related to both their own work and to the organisation.
