A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Nursery Assistant within our nursery. A carer working with children is primarily a fun one, you will be helping children learn through play and help to plan group activities. The role is based in a nursery which provides full day care for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Working with children provides constant challenges, personally and professionally. You could be planning a curriculum, working towards key-children, support staff with trips and working with parents – the job will vary from day to day.
The role will include:
- Training towards an NVQ qualification in Childcare
- To attend monthly team meetings and contribute relevant ideas
- Under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding
- To assist with meeting the children needs
- To provide adult interaction with children during activities, play and care routines
- To be aware of the settings confidentiality policy
Skills:
- Enthusiasm for working with children
- An interest in the care, learning and development of young children
Required licence:
- Clear DBS check
- 2 references
