Overview: Apprenticeship (Level 3 Early Years Educator)
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator Apprentice (Level 3) to join our team. This apprenticeship offers a structured and rewarding pathway into early years education, combining hands-on experience, tailored training, and excellent benefits.
Apprenticeship Structure & Requirements
- Programme Duration: 15–18 months, including off-the-job training sessions—typically one to two hours each week or fortnight, all of which are paid by your employer and integrated into your working hours.
- End‑Point Assessment (EPA): You will complete a final assessment known as an EPA to qualify.
- Qualifications in Maths & English: If you do not already have GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, you will need to complete Functional Skills Level 2 for these subjects. This is part of the apprenticeship and can be completed within six months.
Apprentice Pay & Progression
- Regardless of your age, during your first year of apprenticeship, you will receive the apprentice rate of £7.55 per hour—from 1 April 2025, this is the legal minimum.
- If you already hold a Level 2 Early Years Apprenticeship qualification, your current placement is not your first apprenticeship year. Therefore, you may qualify for a higher wage, appropriate to your age and experience.
Apprentice Benefits & Support
Once employed and enrolled, you'll receive:
- A student-discount travel card for cheaper commuting.
- A shopping discount card to help with essential purchases.
- A confirmation letter or certificate proving your full-time education status—useful for Child Benefit, Council Tax reduction, and other public benefit purposes.
Training & Tutor Support
- You'll meet with your tutor once a week or fortnight, usually during your working hours—this counts as off-the-job paid training.
- Regular weekly check-ins ensure consistent progress and support throughout your apprenticeship.
Why Choose This Apprenticeship?
- You will earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised qualification while being employed.
- A structured pathway: From practical experience to EPA, this apprenticeship leads to full qualification.
- Support for GCSE shortfalls: Functional Skills Level 2 provision ensures you're not held back for missing GCSEs.
- Valued benefits: Travel discounts, shopping savings, and official confirmation of student status.
- Stable and supported progression, with regular tutor contact and on-the-job training hours.
