This programme allows you the opportunity to work with a real employer while also learning aspects of the childcare job role to gain a childcare Level 3 Apprenticeship, this opportunity is based at our Puffins in the City location, EX1 1BB.
Here at Puffins Training, we also offer structured support from our training team who visit the settings on a regular basis to check in on our apprentices and ensure they are thriving in their roles. We also have a support network of previous apprentices who are readily on hand to help coach and share valuable advice where needed.
What does the job role include? The job role of an apprentice is to support the practitioners and educators in the setting to carry out there job in caring for children aged 3 months - 5 years old. This will include; setting up and tidying away activities, supporting lunch times, sorting out laundry and dishes, reading stories to children and splashing in muddy puddles while the children are laughing at how high the water jumps up with lots more.
An apprenticeship is a valuable and recognised programme where apprentices learn on the job, building up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money all at the same time. There are no set entry requirements for Apprenticeships, but you do have to be aged over 16. The course will last for 15 months and during this time you will attend 1 day at our training centre learning off the job and 4 days in one of our nursery settings.
Progression:
Level 3 Apprenticeships typical job roles include Early Years Educator, Childminder, Nursery Nurse. You can also use this qualification to step up further to become seniors, room leaders and deputy managers.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Maths GCSE Grade 3 or above
- English GCSE Grade 4 or above
- Level 2 Certificate in Childcare or Level 3 in Health & Social Care or similar
