NHS Lanarkshire is thrilled to announce a vacancy for Modern Apprenticeships in Healthcare and Healthcare Support within Lanarkshire Podiatry Department.
Key Details:
- Locations: Based in Lanarkshire.
- Duration: Fixed-term positions for 12 months starting from 20th of January 2026. Part-time hours available with pro-rata salary.
- Eligibility: Applicants aged between 16 to 24 years old on 1st of December 2025, (or up to 29 years for applicants with a disability or those with care experience) are eligible. Must demonstrate proficiency at SCQF level 5/National 5 level.
What We Offer:
- Training: Gain invaluable on-the-job training to develop essential healthcare skills.
- Qualification: Work towards achieving a Level 6 SCQF qualification in Social Services and Healthcare or Healthcare Support, a nationally recognised qualification.

- Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to understand various procedures and processes.
- Interest: A keen interest in healthcare roles, coupled with a positive approach to work and a passion for providing excellent patient care.
Duties as a Healthcare Support Worker may include:

Diabetes foot screening
- Assist Podiatrist with nail surgery
- Assist Podiatrist with domiciliary visits
- Stock control
- Record card archiving/mail duties
- Helping patients to move around.

Making patients feel comfortable.
No Prior Experience Necessary: This Apprenticeship welcomes applicants with limited work experience, including school leavers.
