Description

SECAS deliver commercial and industrial security installations across Yorkshire and surrounding areas. Our work includes:

IP CCTV systems
Access control (door controllers/readers/locks)
Structured cabling & containment (fibre pull & basic termination/testing)
Networking (Fibre, POE switches, IP addressing, VLAN awareness)
Associated electrical works for security install

What you'll be doing day-to-day (with support)

Assisting senior engineers on CCTV and access control installations
Pulling cables, helping with containment, first-fix and second-fix work
Learning how to terminate and test data cabling and fibre
Supporting commissioning and fault-finding as skills develop
Completing job paperwork/photos to our standard
Working to RAMS and site safety rules

Package/working hours:

Full-time, permanent role
40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri 08:00–16:30
Overtime available
Company van provided for site work (once competent to drive for work)
25 days holiday + bank holidays
No formal call-out rota — emergency call-outs only, very occasional

Entry requirements

Essential:

Genuine interest in CCTV / security systems / networking / electrical or low-voltage work
Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team
Comfortable using basic hand tools (or keen to learn safely)
Reliable, punctual, and professional with customers on-site

Nice to have (not required):

Any college/unit exposure to security, electrical, or networking
Full UK Drivers Licence
ECS/CSCS or IPAF (we can help them obtain these)

Training to be provided

Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release (Every 8 weeks, Tuesday to Friday).

You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre in Doncaster and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.

You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
