Are you hands-on, curious, and ready to turn your passion for engines into a career? Erewash Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our expert team as an Apprentice Mechanic - no prior qualifications needed, just enthusiasm and a drive to learn!
This fully funded Level 2 Land-based Service Engineer Technician Apprenticeship is your gateway into the world of engineering, where you'll work on everything from tractors and ride-on mowers to strimmers, and hedge cutters. You’ll even get the chance to assist with servicing our fleet of vans and HGVs - giving you a taste of heavy-duty mechanics too.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Carrying out inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on horticultural machinery
- Supporting the servicing of council vehicles, including vans and HGVs
- Learning from experienced technicians and gaining real-world workshop experience
- Attending Riseholme College in Lincoln one day every week
What You’ll Learn:
- Master the fundamentals: engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrics, fabrication, and more
- Understand Health & Safety protocols and engineering best practices
