Description
You will develop your skills in gathering existing and/or new data across GBS. Performing basic level analysis using appropriate analytical techniques, you will contribute to the presentation of findings and insights within daily operational reporting as well as working as part of a team to deliver external and statutory data.
- Support the Data and Information Team to work with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements for internal and external reporting needs.
- Source data for internal and external reporting requirements from trusted sources in a secure manner.
- Validate and cleanse data using appropriate techniques to ensure data quality.
- Store, manage and share data securely in a compliant manner (i.e. taking account of GDPR).
- Present data visualisation using charts, graphs, tables and other more sophisticated visualisation tools such as PowerBi.
- Perform routine descriptive and statistical analysis and respond to ad-hoc queries.
- Summarise and present results to range of stakeholders suggesting recommendations where appropriate.
- Use data to gain understanding of GBS and develop practice in using data for decision making.
- Assist in audits for data quality, data integrity and data governance.
- Practice continuous self-learning and enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development.
Entry requirements
- Achieved a minimum of GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Careful attention to detail, with an aptitude for working quickly and accurately.
- Keen interest in data and how data can be used as key information.
- Some understanding of data and basic statistical techniques (e.g. calculation of averages or percentages).
- Some experience of using excel for data organisation and basic manipulation (i.e. using filters).
- Confidence in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Enjoy working with people as part of a wider team.
- Show enthusiasm to learn and be proactive in your approach to work and professional development.
- To show initiative, curiosity and drive through your work, effectively prioritising tasks and managing these to deadlines.
- Be able to multi-task and/or to use problem-solving skills independently and as part of a larger team.
