Salary: £25,895 per annum
Contract: Full time (36.5 hours per week), Fixed-term Apprenticeship (About 30 months)
The Environmental Sustainability team, part of Estates Services, plays a central role in reducing the University’s environmental impact and embedding sustainable practices across teaching, research, and operations. Working collaboratively with students, staff, departments, and external partners, the team leads engagement, behaviour change, and improvement initiatives that support Oxford’s ambitious sustainability goals.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience while completing a Level 4 Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Practitioner Apprenticeship with GLP over 30 months.
Working closely with the Environmental Sustainability Programme Manager, you will support engagement and communication activities that encourage positive environmental behaviours across the University. You will help design and deliver sustainability campaigns, events, training sessions, and digital content that reach diverse audiences, including students, staff, and partners.
Alongside your practical work, you’ll build professional skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and sustainability reporting - all while contributing directly to initiatives that make a measurable environmental impact at Oxford.
College attendance and successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification is an essential requirement of this role.
About You

You will be able to demonstrate:
- Education to A Level standard (including English and Maths at grade 4 or above, or equivalent)
- A clear interest in environmental sustainability and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills
- A positive and organised approach to work
- Confidence using IT and digital tools, including Microsoft Office and online platforms
