We are passionate about developing future legal talent and are offering an exciting opportunity for a college leaver to start their legal career through a structured Solicitor Apprenticeship within our Personal Injury team.
The Role
This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who want to qualify as a solicitor through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route while gaining hands-on experience in a busy personal injury practice.
You will work alongside experienced solicitors and legal professionals, developing practical legal skills while completing fully funded academic and professional training. On successful completion, you will progress towards qualification as a solicitor.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, you will:
- Assist with the day-to-day management of personal injury cases
- Open, maintain, and close client files in line with regulatory requirements
- Draft routine correspondence and legal documents
- Communicate with clients, insurers, medical experts, and other third parties
- Request, review, and organise medical records and expert reports
- Assist with court documentation and procedural deadlines
- Maintain accurate records using case management systems
- Develop knowledge of personal injury law and civil litigation procedures
- Balance work responsibilities with academic study and training commitments
Training & Development
- Structured Solicitor Apprenticeship programme
- Full funding and support for SQE preparation and assessments
- Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) gained within Hightons Solicitors
- Ongoing supervision, mentoring, and regular reviews
- Clear progression pathway to qualification as a solicitor
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Recent college leaver (A-levels, BTEC, or equivalent)
- Strong interest in pursuing a career as a solicitor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, reliable, and eager to learn
- Basic IT skills
Desirable
- Law A-level, BTEC Law, or equivalent
- Previous office or legal work experience
