Innovia Films is a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Orientated Polypropylene (BOPP) films, supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Engineering Department as an Electrical Apprentice based in Wigton.
What is this role?
As an Electrical Apprentice, the successful candidate will develop the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the reliability and safe operation of our plant, including installation, maintenance, testing and repair of specialist process equipment. Some of the typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure college work is completed on time and to both Company and college standards.
- Comply with appropriate rules, regulations, and processes for safe working.
- Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime and carry out planned maintenance tasks as applicable.
- Maintaining a high level of housekeeping across site.
- Assist other Engineering personnel.
- Ensure the computer maintenance management system is completed for all relevant work and any spares used are replenished. ·
What skills will you need?
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 4-9) including Maths, English and a Science
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to solve problems and react quickly.
- An approachable and helpful manner.
- Self-motivation but willing to work as part of a team.
- A motivated and positive outlook.
- Reliability, punctuality and demonstrate being a real team player.
- Good attention to detail.
- Great organisational skills.
- Solid numerical skills.
- A desire to learn for a long-term position.

The salary for this role is £19,330.64. Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) per year.
