Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated 1st or 2nd year Apprentice Plumber or plumbers mate with little experience. This paid position offers hands-on experience in plumbing and related trades, providing a solid foundation for a career in the construction and maintenance industry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, gaining practical skills and knowledge essential for becoming a qualified plumber. This role is ideal for individuals interested in developing their mechanical and technical expertise within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out tasks efficiently and safely
- Support with welding and assembly work as required for plumbing projects
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate work execution
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to support project requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to uphold health and safety standards
- Participate in training sessions to develop skills in mechanical knowledge, plumbing techniques, and safety procedures
Requirements
- Must have CSCS card as it will be site work
- A keen interest in plumbing, construction, or mechanical trades with a strong willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of maths relevant to measurements and calculations used in plumbing tasks
- Experience or familiarity with welding, hand tools, power tools, and assembly is advantageous but not essential—training will be provided
