Overview
A leading UK manufacturer is launching a new Engineering Apprenticeship Academy in Blackburn, expanding on the success of its existing centres in Suffolk and Rutland. To support this growth, they are seeking a dedicated Engineering Apprentice Trainer to deliver high-quality training, assess learners, and maintain programme compliance across Levels 2 & 3.
This is a chance to help shape a brand-new academy, influence future engineers, and join a supportive team of established trainers and assessors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Engineering knowledge, skills and behaviour training in line with apprenticeship standards (Levels 2 & 3).
- Develop structured lesson plans, schemes of work, and supporting materials.
- Mentor, coach and support apprentices to ensure strong engagement and progression.
- Create an inclusive environment supporting equality, diversity and learners with additional needs.
- Conduct initial assessments and recognise prior learning (RPL).
- Review and track apprentice progress with structured assessments and documented feedback.
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and a safe learning environment.
- Support functional skills development where required.
- Contribute to internal quality auditing and uphold all company policies, including Health & Safety.
- Stay current with Ofsted and awarding-body updates; support external audits.
- Attend careers events, schools outreach (STEM), and CSR activities.
- Travel when required to Oakham, Beccles, and other UK sites.
- Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the role.
Person Requirements
- Relevant Engineering qualification or willingness to gain Level 2/3 qualifications.
- Training or assessing experience is advantageous but not essential, full support is provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident managing deadlines and delivering structured learning outcomes.
- Enthusiastic about developing apprentices and being a positive role model.
- Good IT literacy.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Commitment to CPD (teaching/assessor quals, safeguarding, first aid, etc.)
- Must pass a DBS check and provide two professional references.
