We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Modern Apprentice in IT Support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their journey in the tech industry, gain real-world experience, and work towards an industry‑recognised qualification.
About the Role
As a Modern Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to support day‑to‑day IT operations. You’ll assist with troubleshooting, setting up devices, resolving basic technical issues, and providing great service to end‑users. You’ll also undertake structured training provided by an approved apprenticeship provider, helping you build strong foundational skills in IT support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first‑line support to internal and external users
Assist with device setup, configuration, software installation, and account creation
Help diagnose and resolve common IT issues
Log and update support tickets accurately
Work professionally with colleagues and customers at varying technical levels
Participate fully in apprenticeship training, assessments, and mentoring sessions
Follow internal processes relating to security, data protection, and documentation
Contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement
What You'll Learn
During your apprenticeship, you'll develop:
Core IT support skills (troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance)
Communication, customer service, and teamwork abilities
Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking approaches
ICT and digital literacy competencies
Professional behaviours expected in a technical support environment
Optional vendor certifications depending on training provider (e.g. Microsoft Azure, CompTIA)
Qualifications & Qualities We’re Looking For
Aged 16 or over and eligible for a Modern Apprenticeship
No formal qualifications required — just a genuine interest in IT and problem‑solving
Strong communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills
Ability to work well with others and provide friendly, professional support
Basic familiarity with computers, devices, or technology (preferred but not essential)
