Trainee Accountant Apprenticeship

Salary: £16,000–£21,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Tiptree, Colchester

Wilkin & Sons has been farming at Tiptree, Essex since 1757 and making quality preserves here since 1885. We’re proud of our heritage, our products, and our people—and now we’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic Trainee Accountant Apprentice to join our finance team.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this rewarding role, you will:

Gain hands-on experience across core accounting tasks, working closely with experienced professionals who are committed to your development.
Assist with real business activities and contribute directly to our team’s success.
Study towards an AAT qualification, fully supported with weekly study leave in line with course requirements.
Build strong analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills while ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work.
Become a valued member of a friendly and supportive team.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be:

A college leaver considering your first step into finance
Someone already studying AAT and wanting to progress your career
A career‑changer with an interest in finance and a solid grounding in maths

We’d love to hear from you if you:

Hold an A level (or equivalent qualification) in Maths or a closely related subject
Are confident using computers and keen to learn accounting systems
Have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow
Are organised, accurate, and pay attention to detail
Enjoy being part of a team and building positive working relationships
