With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.

We are seeking an individual to join the Cashiering Service at Ninewells Hospital as an Apprentice on an initial 23-month contract.
As a Modern Apprentice, you will work as part of the Cashiering team and develop your skills in a range of business and administrative duties, with a focus on the cashiering services provided for both patients and services. You will be required to undertake specified learning during the apprenticeship duration and this will include:

SCQF Level 5 in Business Administration
-
National and local induction procedures
-
On-line learning
-
Face to face and group learning activities
You will be supported to attend a local college and access mentoring / assessment within the workplace to achieve your SCQF this will normally be a half-day per week during term time. There may also be an opportunity to undertake a placement over the 23 months within another Cash Office in NHS Tayside to gain experience of other health care settings.
The successful candidate should have:

Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.

Strong numeracy skills.

Ability to undertake appropriate training for required work activities, according to workplace area & apprenticeship framework.
Current NHS Tayside Employee’s - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
