An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire & Security professional to join the training team as a Fire & Security Tutor, delivering industry-leading technical training to apprentices and engineers.
You will play a key role in developing the next generation of Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) engineers, delivering classroom and practical training aligned with the Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems apprenticeship standard.
Working within a specialist training environment, you will help learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours required to succeed in the fire and security industry.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging technical training sessions covering fire, security, and electronic systems.
Teach apprentices how to install, commission, maintain, and fault-find fire and security systems.
Provide instruction on access control, intruder alarms, CCTV, and fire detection systems.
Support apprentices in understanding electrical principles, system design, commissioning, and compliance standards.
Assess learner progress through practical demonstrations, coursework, and assessments.
Provide mentoring and guidance to support learners’ technical development and career progression.
Maintain accurate training records and assessment documentation.
Work with internal stakeholders and employers to ensure apprentices achieve industry-recognised qualifications.
What We’re Looking For
Strong background as a Fire & Security Engineer or Technical Specialist
Experience with installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of fire and security systems
Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Fire Alarm systems
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers or apprentices
Strong communication and presentation skills
Passion for developing new talent in the fire and security industry
