About the role:
This role offers a supported entry point into a corporate Technology environment. The apprentice will gain hands‑on experience delivering user‑focused IT support, developing communication, customer service and problem‑solving skills while learning how modern workplace technology supports people at work.

Your focus will be on supporting people, not just technology, providing day‑to‑day IT assistance and excellent customer service to employees. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues while learning how technology helps people work effectively.
Who you’ll work with
Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) is Canada’s largest single‑profession pension plan, founded in 1990. The London office manages investments across Europe and is home to approximately 120 employees. You’ll be part of the local Technology team, working closely with colleagues in London and across the global organisation.
You’ll regularly interact with employees, visitors, vendors, and partners, often acting as the first point of contact for technology‑related support in the office.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly and professional IT support to staff and visitors
- Support users with everyday workplace technology and applications
- Assist with the setup and support of video conferences and meetings
- Prepare IT equipment such as laptops and mobile phones
- Support new starters by ensuring they receive the right technology and onboarding
- Keep the team informed of any customer service issues that arise
- Work alongside senior team members to learn how issues are identified and resolved
- Identify potential improvements that could enhance customer satisfaction
- Provide support to visitors and travelling colleagues when required
Skills:
- They're looking for someone with the right attitude and behaviours, rather than extensive technical knowledge
- A positive, customer‑focused approach and enjoyment in helping others
- Good listening and communication skills
- Confidence speaking with people in person and over the phone
- Basic familiarity with Windows and everyday IT tools
- Experience using cloud‑based systems such as Microsoft 365
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills
Entry Requirements:
- You’ll need to attend an online interview with our Talent Team and pass initial assessments in maths and English once you have completed your registration.
- You will need to be within a commutable distance to the office location listed.
