Are you caring, compassionate, motivated and interested in developing your career within the National Health Service? Then this may be the opportunity for you! Join us at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT), training to become a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, gaining a BSc Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy with Birmingham City University, whilst you work.
The Speech and Language Therapy Apprenticeship combines clinical employment, work based learning, and academic learning. It is a fully funded route towards qualification as a HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
As an employee of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, you will demonstrate our values, and once you have completed all the requirements for registration as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, you will be supported to apply for band 5 vacancies within the Trust.
You will be employed as an Apprentice Speech and Language Therapist at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and will work as part of a Childrens Integrated Therapy Speech and Language Therapy Service.
Children’s Integrated Therapy Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) services support infants, children and young people with speech, language, communication, social interaction, and eating and drinking needs. This is a county-wide service, with staff expected to travel between sites and placements. The service works with children from early years through to school age, partnering with families, education settings and other professionals. It provides assessment, targeted intervention, and advice, delivered across homes, nurseries, schools, clinics and community settings to support communication and access to learning.
During the apprenticeship you will develop skills and knowledge that will allow you to work in today's dynamic and changing healthcare environment. Whilst you will be based in one specific team across our community and mental health services, your placements will provide a variety of learning environments both within Oxford Health and with external healthcare providers.
