We’re hiring two Fire Engineering Degree Apprentices to join Bureau Veritas in 2026.

About the apprenticeship
You’ll complete a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), combining classroom learning with hands‑on experience.

4.5 years-
4 years of academic study

Final 6 months completing your End Point Assessment (EPA)
Study location:
UCLan campus, Preston
Format:
Block release (4 × two‑week blocks per year)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, typically 09:00–16:00
We’ll support you every step of the way:
As a Degree Apprentice Fire Engineer, you’ll be learning on the job while contributing to real projects.
You’ll:

Support the design of
fire safety strategies
across a variety of buildings and projects -
Assist in developing
fire safety reports, drawings, and technical documentation

Learn how to apply
UK and international fire safety regulations

Develop knowledge of
smoke modelling, evacuation analysis, and fire protection systems

Work alongside experienced Fire Engineers, gaining hands‑on experience from day one

Build the skills needed to become a fully qualified Fire Engineer
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for curious, motivated individuals who are ready to commit to a long‑term professional pathway.
You’ll ideally have:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in
Maths and English
(Grade 4/C or above) -
A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (
Maths or STEM preferred
) -
Strong
communication and problem‑solving skills

A genuine interest in
engineering, safety, or the built environment

The ability to balance
work and academic study

Willingness to travel to
Preston
for block‑release study
