Charlene Bastone is an international showjumping running a show jumping competition and sales livery yard in West Sussex. Looking for a fun, motivated apprentice (Level 2 or 3) to join their team for an immediate start. Full Description below.
We are a showjumping competition and sales livery yard. We only have 8 horses so we are a small and friendly team, offering an excellent opportunity for someone to train with us as we travel nationally and internationally to shows, have a huge variety of horses and clients worldwide.
We have one excellent show groom who has been with us for 4 years, who the apprentice will work alongside and learn from.
The role will include all general yard duties (mucking out, sweeping, putting horses on/off the walker, haying, making feeds, feeding etc). You will receive training to lunge, get horses ready for exercise, wash off horses after exercise etc. with the role being tailored to what the apprentice wants to focus on for their career - you can come to some shows, deal with clients, be involved with the yard management.
The successful applicant must have experience in safely handling horses, how to tack up, muck out and basic common sense around horses is required!
The position is for someone passionate who really wants to learn. As long as you have a positive and dedicated attitude we can teach the skills. A bubbly and fun person would be great as we have lots of team dinners, evenings out, etc that they can be involved in! We also give out staff bonuses especially when hours are early / late on show days!
Whilst the position if for a non ridden apprentice, there will be some riding opportunities for the right person such as hacking out.

For the right competent person we could train them to be an international show groom or home groom - whatever they would prefer!
