Apprenticeship Training:
Our apprenticeship training program includes attending college to complete required academic modules with our apprentice training provider, as well as working in the workshop, alongside a team qualified service engineers.
Apprentices who do not live within travelling distance of the selected college will be required to stay overnight/live away in fully paid accommodation for the duration of the college blocks. It will take up to three years to successfully complete your Apprenticeship with us and this will eventually lead to the award of a NVQ Level 3 in Land Based Service Engineer.
Typical tasks include:
- Shadowing experienced service engineers
- Learn fault finding based on customer and operator reports
- Understand how of complete routine inspections on engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, electrical systems, tyres and the plants’ frame to identify faults and general wear and tear
- Learn how to dismantle, repair or replace faulty parts
- Reassembling parts and testing plant machinery to make sure it is working correctly and safely
- Keeping comprehensive record logs of any work completed to evidence learning and development
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 GCSE’s at “C” or above (or equivalent qualification)
Desired Skills:
- A proven or enthusiastic interest in service engineering/plant mechanics

Salary:
- £6.77 - £9.39 per hour, dependent on age

The successful candidate will be confident in managing multiple projects and customers within the business. The candidate must work well in high pressure situations, whilst ensuring the workforce have the right parts for the job at the right time. Individual should have previous experience in a similar position and will be able to demonstrate strong organizational, negotiation and communication skills. They will be highly motivated, reliable and confident of their knowledge and skillset.
