We’re a small garden maintenance business, based in Epsom, looking for a full time, Garden Apprentice (ideally with a driving license), to join the team. We cover domestic and commercial garden maintenance and hedge work in the local area.
You’ll join a friendly and sociable team and be given a daily and weekly schedule of pre-booked gardens to maintain, to a high standard. You’ll learn lots of new skills in general garden maintenance including grass cutting, weeding, strimming & hedge cutting. You’ll learn to use lawn mowers, ride-on mowers, strimmers & hedge cutters.

Garden Apprenticeship
We currently have one Garden Apprentice in the team, due to start their college apprenticeship in September (a two year programme at Merrist Wood College, Guildford). From September, this team member will work 4 days per week and attend college 1 day per week.
This has gone really well and we are keen to take on another Garden Apprentice, to start ASAP and who is keen to start their apprenticeship at college in September 2025.
The process will include an assessment for Maths and English and the training will be provided in the workplace by a college provider working towards the Horticulture Operative Standard Apprenticeship.
About you
· A keen interest in gardening and horticulture, keen to become a fully qualified Gardener, within a supportive and friendly team
· Previous gardening experience is desirable, but not essential.
· Have the ability to undertake general gardening jobs involving manual work and the use of machinery and equipment
· Happy to work outside in all weather conditions
· You’ll be keen to learn, hardworking, reliable and able to use your initiative
· You'll have both your English Level 1 & Maths Level 1
· Ideally a valid driving license and car, able to travel to locations to start work
A DBS check will be carried out for this role.
Working Pattern
· Your normal working hours are c. 7.45 am – 4.30 pm (40 hours per week, full time).
· You’ll work 4 days per week during term time, extending to 5 days per week during college holiday periods
