Following the successful progression of the previous apprentice into full-time employment within the sector, we are seeking to appoint an Apprentice ICT Technician to join our team. Sir John Thursby is an oversubscribed successful school with over 1100 students on roll. This is an exciting time to join us as we refresh our servers, Voice over Internet Protocol and digital signage in the next twelve months. It is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the latest technologies and more.
The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team of two (Network Manager and Senior ICT Technician) and will be expected to apply themselves to the apprenticeship programme with commitment and diligence. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and pro-active; able to support learning through outstanding ICT service provision.
Apprentice ICT Technician responsibilities will include:
- First line support, the first point of contact for staff and students when needing ICT support, proactively respond to tickets logged within the ICT helpdesk and answering the phone
- Accurately recording problems, identifying and repairing hardware and software issues, installing software and general maintenance tasks
- Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft technologies; Entra, Intune Power Automate, Copilot agents and more
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for ICT and technology in general along with a willingness to undertake further training.
Hours of work: 08:00 16:00, 4 days a week with one day release at college.
