Lucy Struthers Horses is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Equine Groom who is looking to further their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will work alongside their current team handling and caring for their competition horses.
Working with professional people, the training will give a good foundation to go on and work in any sphere of the equestrian industry. A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image they pride themselves on.
Yard duties will include but not limited to;
- Turning out and bringing in
- Mucking out
- Feeding, watering and haying
- Grooming
- Clipping and trimming
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
- Bandaging
- Tacking up
- Lunging/long rein
- Tack cleaning
- Handling stallions
- Attending shows when required
With training on site everyday and when required this is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team with further training and employment available for the right candidate.

Training
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
Future prospects
- There is a possibility of progressing on to Level 3 Senior Equine Groom or employment if a position is available.
Things to consider
- There is accommodation on site available for the right apprentice and their horse.
- Livery for the successful candidates own horse could be available if required.
