Summary
The DAF Academy offers a bespoke apprenticeship programme that focuses on education in electrification. DAF Apprentices will obtain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to not only become an expert DAF Technician but also ensure they have a successful career with DAF whilst maximising personal growth.
Annual wage
£15,764.40 a year.
The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.
Training course
Heavy vehicle service and maintenance technician – Heavy vehicle (level 3)
Work
Working alongside qualified technicians who will be dealing with all aspects of the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles. Level 3 Apprenticeship. Inspecting and repairing a range of heavy vehicles (HVs) and trailers for dealerships, independent garages and franchise and large fleet operators.
What you’ll do at work
Not only will Apprentices be working and be trained at a DAF garage they will attend College four times a year for two week periods to work towards their Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. An advisor will visit at least every six weeks as part of a close support network to ensure that Apprentices are both enjoying and succeeding in their course. An Apprentice’s training includes:
- Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Standard
- Functional skills if needed in maths & English
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
