Stores Operative Apprentice
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Hourly Rate – £8.00 per hour.
Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic additional member of staff to join our stores team as a Stores Operative Apprentice.
The successful candidate will be working in a modern stores’ environment with customer service and quality paramount.
The course that the candidate will enrol on will be a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative course and there will be one day per week allowed for apprenticeship work.
Duties would include but not limited to
- Receiving and checking all deliveries.
- Book in deliveries and confirm parts receipt against orders.
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner.
- Creating job trays for the production team.
- Liaise with suppliers and handle queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies.
- Daily dispatching from our accounts system, creating courier labels and packing goods that are to be shipped each day.
- Carry out regular stock takes.
- Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required.
- Liaise daily with the purchasing team.
- Liaise daily with production management.
- Apply & follow safe working practices.
Experience
· Candidates should have an excellent grasp of English and be confident in computer use, including but not limited to Word & Excel.
· Previous work experience is ideal but not necessary.
· Be able to handle heavy reels of cable & boxes (25kg max).
· Candidate must be comfortable standing most of the day due to the nature of the work, anti-fatigue mats are provided.
