Are you passionate about working with young children and excited to start your journey in early years education? We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join our brand-new nursery!
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves being around children and wants to gain real experience while working towards a recognised childcare qualification. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team, learning on the job as you help to create a safe, fun, and nurturing space for children to grow and thrive.
What you'll do
As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, you’ll work closely with our experienced team to:
- Assist in the planning and setting up of fun, age-appropriate activities.
- Support daily routines like mealtimes, play, nappy changing, toilet training and rest, making sure children feel safe and happy.
- Build warm and respectful relationships with children, parents, and team members.
- Observe children’s development and share your feedback with senior staff.
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, and positive social skills through play and interaction.
- To follow and ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained.
- To advise the Safeguarding designated person/deputy of any concerns.
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
- Join in with group activities, encouraging teamwork, sharing, and confidence-building.
- Shadow senior staff in room to learn best practice
Experience
- A genuine interest in working with young children and learning about early years development is desirable
- A keen interest in early childhood education and a desire to learn about child development.
- Good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and kindly.
- A positive attitude, with the confidence to support small groups during activities.
- Flexible and proactive, ready to get involved, solve problems, and learn from everyday experiences.
- Willingness to take part in training and development opportunities within the field of childcare.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £8.00-£10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
