Summary
As Painters and Decorators operate in domestic and commercial properties and undertake the decoration and protection of buildings, learners will be taught to prepare surfaces correctly, including applying primer and sealers, applying paints to all surfaces commonly found in the work environment, including timbers, metals, masonry and plaster surfaces. Learners will gain knowledge of legal and Health, Safety and welfare requirements to enable them to work on Construction sites. Learners will also be applying wallcoverings, both preparatory and finishing types to ceilings and walls and will complete to industry standard over the course duration. Learning to work individually and/or as part of a team is embedded into practical tasks to ensure they become responsible for their own work and focus on achieving a high-quality finish at an appropriate pace. Learners are encouraged to develop good problem-solving skills and become efficient communicators and will be able to interact effectively with colleagues, clients and associated trades
Requirements
A minimum of GCSE grade 3 in BOTH Maths and English is required for this role.
