The Apprentice BI Developer ensures that key performance data is delivered to drive the day-to-day success of the business and take the UKIA Reporting and Analytics Function from “Good to Great”. They assist in processing data from various sources to create accurate, efficient, and timely data pipelines, supporting the outputs of the Reporting and Analytics function. They support the GTM process in defining and sourcing data inputs, as well as collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, to ensure we deliver exceptional outcomes for Sage
.
As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll benefit from five personal development days which you can use to boost your skills and industry knowledge. We also encourage all our colleagues to make an impact in their local communities, by giving them five fully paid days per year to volunteer, fundraise or do other charitable work through Sage Foundation.
This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Newcastle office
Key Responsibilities
What will the programme look like?
This is a great opportunity to work as an Apprentice BI Developer in a dynamic team responsible for building high quality data models and reporting.
Reporting to the Head of BI Development, the Apprentice BI Developer you will be required to design, develop, and maintain BI solutions. Crafting and executing queries upon request for data.
Your primary focus will be on gaining the required skills and knowledge to design, develop, and deliver high quality products and/or systems and services.
Summary of your Day to Day
Collaborate with the BI development team in IT to help ensure raw data is accurate, timely, well-defined, and continuously improved.
Assist in supporting the GTM process by working with stakeholders to ensure new propositions or initiatives can be measured and the correct business processes are in place for data capture.
Contribute to key data projects by helping to mine and wrangle complex data from multiple sources using tools like Power BI, dbt, SQL, Snowflake and GitHub.
Support the BAU sales reporting cadence by helping to create and deliver accurate and easily understood management information reports to frontline colleagues to drive performance and ensure accurate commission payments.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to identify opportunities for efficiencies through automation and process/codebase improvements.
Help identify gaps in the reporting suite and work with key stakeholders in Commercial Operations and Sales to address them.
Assist in building data treatments and definitions that are properly documented, consistently in line with best practices, and easily articulated.
Follow standard ways of working and adhere to a rigorous release and change management cycle.

You will need five 9-4 GCSE passes (including Maths and English) to thrive in this role, and to qualify for the Data Analyst apprenticeship you will be enrolled on to.
