Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Production team to gain a level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while providing support to the Machine Operators with machine specific functions. Veetee is a global ambient foods and rice company, a major supplier to retailers, wholesalers, and other food manufacturing businesses. We have two factories and three warehouses in Rochester, Kent, one manufacturing site and corporate office in India, and a Sales & Distribution team in the USA.
The training will be delivered by IPS who will support and train the learner through the component aims with monthly monitoring and assessment visits to the workplace. This will prepare the learner for the End Point Assessment that is required for this Apprenticeship.
To complete this apprenticeship, the learner must pass Level 1 English and maths (or have the appropriate transferable skills).
Here's what you'll be doing:
Production Preparation & Setup
- Carry out pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line.
- Set the machine to production recipes.
- Preparing raw materials for production.
- Replenish packaging and films to the production line during the shift, including stacking trays.
- Set up batches of production as per the production plan.
Operations & Processing
- Manual handling, including stacking finished goods.
- Replenish the PH.
- Record downtime and work with the team to minimise it.
- Assist in resolving machine stoppages.
- Achieve OEE and waste targets.
Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain the hygiene of equipment.
- Maintain health and safety and always adhere to policies and procedures.
Documentation & Compliance
- Completing documentation throughout the shift.
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
- Work as part of a team.
- Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
- Help & assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements
- 3 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
