The Business
- Residential Conveyancing – sales, purchases and re-mortgages
Your role
In this role you will help deliver an exceptional customer experience, you will develop new skills, increase legal knowledge and begin an exciting career specialising in property law, working on behalf of clients selling, buying, re-mortgaging and transferring property.
You will support the residential the conveyancing teams in a wide range of administrative duties.
- Providing fee estimates, opening files, producing standard and ad hoc correspondence, ordering searches
- Handling telephone enquiries, correspondence & emails to provide updates and information.
- Drafting and amending letters and legal documents
- Working as part of an office team to provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients”
- Take guidance to proactively deal with matters, ensuring clients, estate agents and all interested parties advised of developments at all stages
- Liaising with staff from other Ocean group companies
- Reporting on contracts to clients
- Liaising with other law firms and estate agents when involved in transactions
- Develop knowledge and skills for referral of all Ocean services and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Providing assistance to the office conveyancer as required
- Protecting clients' interests at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering
- Ensuring adherence to service level agreements, ensuring clients’ expectations are met, updated as necessary
- Supporting all team members in providing an exceptional customer experience
Working week
- Monday – Friday
- 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
- 1 hour lunch
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Office based.
Desired skills
- Due to the Apprenticeship criteria candidates with LLB would not be eligible for this position
- Local viable commute essential
- 4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

Training to be provided
- You will complete the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship
- This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
- The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
