We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Apprentice to join our growing Finance and Admin team. This is an entry level role, suitable for those looking to pursue a career in accounts. The candidate must be interested in achieving AAT level 2 qualification. The role will provide practical, on the job learning, to complement your studies.
The role holder will report to the Office Manager. The position is a full-time, temporary role for the duration of the apprenticeship. On successful completion of the apprenticeship course, you will potentially have the opportunity to progress to a finance and admin or accounts position within the business.

The training you'll be getting
- Level 2 AAT – up to 15 months

Responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices, ensuring correct authorisation and accurate coding.
- Assisting with the setup of new customers and suppliers, including verification of their details.
- Creating sales invoices, and credit notes to distribute to clients ensuring accurate coding and information.
- To respond to basic requests for information relating to the Finance function of the business.
- Responding to emails received within various shared inboxes that have been assigned.
- Updating the internal CRM System.
- Answering queries from suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
- Other general administrative duties such as filing and record keeping, both electronic and paper copies.
Key Skills
- High level of attention to detail to accurately process invoices, data, and manage supplier and customer information.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills: Work well with customers and clients at all levels, from junior staff to senior managers, using email, face-to-face meetings, and phone calls.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Attend virtual training as required whilst meeting deadlines set by the college and training provider.
- Meet qualification requirements: Work with the training provider to ensure the qualification is obtained within set timescales.

Knowledge
- Strong willingness to learn and develop basic accounting principles: Understanding invoicing, credit notes, reconciliations, and familiarity with purchase and sales ledgers.
- Develop knowledge of financial laws and regulations.
- Explore and learn to use accounting software and CRM systems with interest.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs Grade 4 or above in Maths and English, ensuring competency in numeracy and clear written communication.
- Competent in MS Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook.
