We are looking for an administrator to train up to become part of our Admin Team. Once trained, our administrators become an integral part of the practice team liaising between patients, clinical staff and hospitals for a variety of enquiries. This is an interesting position that could lead to a career pathway within primary (GP Practices) and secondary (hospital) care
The successful candidate will provide general reception & administration assistance to the wider practice team
Main Responsibilities:
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
- Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
- Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
- Scanning and indexing all relevant documentation onto clinical system.
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Providing admin assistance to Practice staff as required, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Gain a working knowledge of the clinical computer system and developing an understanding of medical terminology
- Ad hoc administration duties when required

They may also have access to information relating to the Practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
- Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
- Working 35 hours per week
