Job Purpose
Are you ready to take your first step into industry and at the same time gain a BSc (Hons) Chemical Science degree. Ravago is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious apprentice to join our world leading recycling group.
This graduate apprentice position will be based at the Ravago Manufacturing UK site in Leigh, Lancashire. This site specializes in the recovery of thermoplastic polymer scrap into thermoplastic compounds for injection molding and extrusion applications.
As part of this apprenticeship you will obtain on the job training, working alongside the local team in manufacturing, quality, compliance and laboratory functions and at the same time complete a Chemical science degree. You will also be exposed to tasks and projects collaborating with our European sites. This is a small site and the trainee will be exposed to a wide range of activity to support the site including the introduction of additional characterization and testing procedures.
Responsibilities
Performing routine product testing – physical and analytical (DSC)
Testing raw materials, in process samples and final products
Maintain high standards in lab conditions, equipment calibration and documentation
Using internal systems
Involvement in continuous improvement projects and lean, 5S, SOP creating, training
Follow all safety and environmental procedures
Internal auditing Quality and Environmental
Environmental compliance and accreditation support
Supporting small local team to meet site KPI and company goals
Job Requirements
Education / Entry Requirements:
- Be 18 or older
- Have the right of abode and right to work in the UK to qualify for funding
- Applicants should have a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A-level (grades BCC), with one being chemistry or an equivalent scientific discipline. We will evaluate any applicants who do not meet these requirements but have relevant workplace experience or other equivalent qualifications (e.g. T-levels or BTEC diploma/extended diploma in a scientific discipline).
