Level 3 Fabrication & Welding Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship
To fabricate equipment and tooling as required for both internal and external customers. Repair of equipment returned from job sites back to standard as well as to gain sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to successfully become a qualified Fabricator/Welder, which generally includes carrying out supervised fabrication and welding tasks on BSL drilling and digging tools and ancillary equipment.
What does the apprenticeship involve?
· Work in accordance with local, site, company and UK rules and regulations – H&S and Environmental.
· Always maintain a safe and tidy working area.
· Use and access company databases for access to time sheets, risk assessments, method statements, holidays etc
· Fabricate items from provided information in a timely and methodical manner, working to stated tolerances and finishing work to an acceptable standard using all available information and support
· Work as part of a team whether in workshop or on site
· Complete a timesheet daily and submit within 24 hrs via POR
· Maintain log of personal tools
· Report all incidents, accidents or suggestions for improvement through 1APP
· Proficient in at least 1 of the following –
o Flight Press
o Profiler
o Pinch Rollers
o Auto Welder

Qualifications on completion of the apprenticeship
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (e.g Welding/Fabrication) or equivalent Level 2 (min) NVQ.
· Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
· Proficient in MAGS welding.
· Proficient in MMA welding.
· Proficient with Oxy – fuel gas cutting equipment.
· Proficient in slinging and signalling loads.
· Forklift operation.
Desired Skills
- Good Education, GCSE’s (or equivalent) 4/C or above in Maths and English.
- Be able to communicate effectively both written and orally.
- Have basic IT knowledge and skills.
- A pro-active approach to learning and upskilling

To succeed, you will need
· A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English, Maths and another subject.
· Strong interpersonal skills, self-starting and motivated attitude with a curiosity to learn.
· A curiosity and ability to be adaptable to changing business requirements.
· Ability to absorb information, analyse problems, make fact-based decisions, and propose innovative solutions.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Keen eye for detail with excellent analytical and communication skills.
