An opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice
This position is an important role within a busy and fast-paced working environment where you will learn to become an effective Lettings Negotiator. You will be provided with an extensive training programme that will enable you to answer calls from prospective clients, register interested parties, conduct viewings and generally oversee the lettings process on each property from start to finish. For a candidate demonstrating the right skills and motivation, this is a great opportunity to understand how one of the top Estate Agents in St Albans operates.
Future Prospects
Absolutely there is. Upon qualification there is the opportunity to take on the role as a permanent member of the team and aim for more senior positions in the agency. Salary is very much dependent on aptitude and how they progress during their time with Northwood. There are further opportunities to work in other teams such as Maintenance, Accounts, Lettings & Sales. As a large, growing agency there will be even greater opportunities as time progresses.
We employed Apprentices in 2013, 2019, 2023 and 2025 who have developed into a very effective and valued Negotiators and Property Managers.
The Estate Agency
One of the largest Estate Agents in St Albans offering its clients Lettings & Management services, as well as Sales. Although we are part of a network of 90 branches across the UK, it is a franchise and therefore individually owned with very much a personal touch. We are currently a team of 11 who work hard but who are very friendly and supportive of each other.
Your role
- Providing vital support to the team to ensure the smooth functioning of the Lettings team.
- This position sits within the Sales and Lettings Team and involves:
- Answer calls from potential clients
- Register interested parties
- Book-in viewings
- Conduct viewings
- Negotiate with tenants and liaise with Landlords to secure a deal
- Assist the referencing process and oversee the Lettings process to tenant move in.
- This is just a proportion of the varied tasks involved in the role.
Working week
Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm with 45 mins for lunch, potentially to include a Saturday once a fortnight (10am to 4.30pm with 30 mins for lunch) and a day off in lieu the week before.

Training to be provided
The successful candidate will be completing a Level 3 in Business and Administration.
Course content:

- Professionalism and performance management
You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:
- This apprenticeship will involve off the job training
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours
- You need to have an employer to support your apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role
- The typical length of this apprenticeship course is 18 months
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
- Functional skills if needed
