Job Summary
Kick-start your career with Pulse Hire Ltd as an Apprentice Hire Desk Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hire desk environment while completing a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, developing valuable skills with clear progression opportunities into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Hire Desk team, you will:

Deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Liaise with customers and suppliers via phone and email.

Work closely with the Sales team to ensure customer orders are processed correctly.

Communicate order updates, issues, and developments to the wider team.

Communicate with suppliers when placing orders.

Support the purchasing and sourcing of hire equipment.

Complete administrative tasks accurately, including:
-
Raising, chasing, and closing breakdowns.
-
Processing off-hires.
-
Raising and managing damages.
-
Maintain accurate records across internal systems.
Learn product knowledge and industry standards.
You will gain hands-on experience while being supported by experienced colleagues.
Training & Development:
You will complete a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship, delivered by Total Training Provision Limited.
Your training will include:

At least 20% off-the-job training during working hours.

Online learning and self-study modules.

One-to-one support from a dedicated Skills Coach.

Projects and practical activities.

Regular progress reviews.
-
Structured training in customer experience, communication, teamwork, and handling challenges.
Support to achieve English and maths qualifications if required.
The apprenticeship is completed through a final assessment, including a practical observation and professional discussion.
Essential Requirements:

GCSE English at Grade 4 or above (essential).
GCSE Maths at Grade 4 or above (essential).
