What is the opportunity?
This is a 2-year apprenticeship where you’ll work toward becoming a Hardware Technician. You’ll complete the recognised qualification below and learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need along the way:
Network engineer / Skills England
This is fully funded – no cost to you – and combine on-the-job learning with structured training.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
As a Hardware Technician Apprentice, you’ll work closely with the wider engineering team to deliver hardware support across the business, ensuring our technology is reliable, accessible, and continuously improving. There will also be opportunities to get involved in local project work, helping you broaden your experience and grow within the role.
This vital role ensures that you along with the team are always ‘Making every day better’ for the people at RS.
What we’re looking for
We’re not expecting you to be an expert! This is an entry-level role, so we’re looking for potential, not perfection.
Here’s what will help you succeed:
- You don’t already have a Level 4 or higher IT qualification
- You have the right to work and live in the UK and have lived in the EU/EEA for the last 3 years
- You’re happy to travel to our central London office (this is an office based role)
- A strong interest in IT support and end user computing
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively within a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of hardware (desirable but not essential)
