Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Renewable Energy Apprentice with a keen interest in electrical engineering to join our expanding team. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage solutions, EV Charging systems and other cutting-edge technologies. You will gain practical skills while earning nationally recognized qualifications, preparing you for a rewarding career in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of renewable energy systems, including solar PV and battery storage solutions.
- Learn to conduct electrical tests and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Support senior engineers in diagnosing and resolving system faults.
- Participate in site assessments and feasibility studies, contributing to project design and planning.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring safe and efficient use.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, standards, and practices in renewable energy and electrical engineering.
What You’ll Learn:
- Electrical engineering fundamentals, focusing on renewable energy systems.
- Installation and maintenance of solar PV systems and associated components.
- Health and safety practices specific to electrical and renewable energy work.
- Problem-solving techniques and fault diagnosis.
- Industry regulations, including wiring standards and grid connection requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
- Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Math, English, and Science, grade 4/C or above.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A proactive approach to challenges and a drive for continuous improvement.
