About the role
GBS Procure is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Project Management Apprentice to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in project management and procurement while gaining practical work experience, earning a salary and working towards a nationally recognised Associate Project Manager Level 4 qualification.
You will work as part of a small, supportive team and will be involved in real projects from the beginning. You will support colleagues with the planning, administration and delivery of procurement projects for clients, particularly within the social housing and local government sectors.
About GBS Procure
GBS Procure is an independent procurement consultancy based in Kenilworth. We support housing associations, local authorities and other organisations to buy and manage the goods, works and services they need. Our work helps clients achieve value for money, manage risk and deliver better outcomes for residents and communities.
We already have apprentices within the business and are passionate about helping people develop long-term careers in procurement and project management.
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the scoping and planning of new projects.
- Helping to prepare project documents, trackers and spreadsheets.
- Supporting procurement processes from planning through to contract award.
- Organising meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes.
- Following up actions and helping to keep projects on track.
- Communicating with clients, suppliers and colleagues by email and phone.
- Maintaining accurate project records and files.
- Supporting the development of standard documents and procedures.
- Attending project meetings and team check-ins.
- Taking on more responsibility as your confidence and knowledge grows.
Full training and support will be provided, so previous project management or procurement experience is not required.
Training and development
You will study towards the Associate Project Manager Level 4 apprenticeship, which usually takes around 24 months to complete.
You will have one dedicated study day per week and will be supported by your line manager, senior colleagues and the wider team. As your skills develop, you will be encouraged to take on more responsibility and build confidence working on live projects.
Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to progress into a permanent project or procurement role, depending on business needs and performance.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is organised, positive and keen to learn.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisation and time management.

- A proactive and willing attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Interest in project management, procurement or business administration.
- Professional and friendly communication with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
Experience from school, college, part-time work, volunteering or personal responsibilities can all be relevant.
Entry requirements
Ideally, you will have:
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
- 2 relevant A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
However, if you do not meet these exactly but can show strong motivation, relevant skills and a willingness to learn, we would still encourage you to apply.
As this role is based in Kenilworth, applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Coventry or the surrounding areas.
