We are creating a stimulating role for an apprentice to get involved in the ever-changing accountancy field. With an accountancy qualification, your career will take on an exciting twist and you will have opportunities in various industries and countries.
A trainee accountant is required to join our small growing chartered certified accountancy firm to learn and evoke change and undertake a range of duties within a practice that embraces the latest cloud-based technology and apps to provide a proactive service to our clients. This role would suit someone who is very keen on gaining all round experience within a small practice and would love the opportunity to gain a full qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
The role is based at our offices in Woodford Green. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30, with time off to attend college provided.

- Must be competent in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good team player and sense of humour
- Positive attitude and willingness to embrace change
- Proactive, reliability and punctuality are key for this role
- Excellent attention to detail required
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with Bookkeeping on Excel and Xero accounting software
- Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns
- Assisting in the preparation of self-assessment tax returns for sole traders
- Preparation of accounts up to trial balance level
- General administration duties including scanning, photocopying and filing
- Assist other staff with ad-hoc duties
- DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- GCSE’s grades A-C/ 9-4, or equivalent, including Maths and English
- A-Level grades A-C/9-4, or equivalent in relevant subjects, such as Accountancy, Economics, Business, Maths etc.
