Legal Support Apprentice
An excellent opportunity to complete a level 3 Apprenticeship and start a career within the field of law
- Depending upon the development of the candidate through the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress in the firm.
- Working week 8.30am – 5.30pm (Monday-Friday) with 1 hour lunch break
This is an exciting opportunity to work and gain experience in a busy law firm. The role is to be part of the administration team dealing with daily tasks including making and answering calls, taking messages, and forwarding to the relevant fee earner. printing and collating of documents and on occasion delivering to court either in person or via email. Contacting courts for hearing listings liaising with barrister’s clerks on behalf of fee earners.

The role of an Administration Apprentice within a Law Practice may include but not limited to;
- Performs clerical duties, including, but not limited to, mailing and filing correspondence, placing orders, and answering calls
- Interacts with clients and visitors
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail
- Arranges meetings by reserving rooms and managing refreshments
- Types correspondence, meeting notes, and forms among other documents
- Photocopies, scans, and files appropriate documents
- Edits documents for accuracy
- Maintains accurate records and enters data
- Conducts research and compiles data
- Signs for delivered packages and distributes them to the appropriate recipient
- Interacts with Solicitors when necessary
- Assists in setting up new client accounts
- Maintains financial database records
- Covers reception from time to time
- Maintains stock of supplies by anticipating work requirements, ordering supplies, and distributing supplies where necessary
- Performs additional duties when required
Desired skills
- 4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
- This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
- The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
