The Outpatients & Phlebotomy Administration Team cover Room Bookings for Outpatient Clinics, Data Entry and Analysis, and Blood Test Appointment Bookings services.
The successful applicant will work under supervision as part of the Adult Outpatients/Phlebotomy Administration team to provide administrative and clerical support in the delivery of a high quality and specialist service.
The Apprentice will be undertaking a training programme. Training will be delivered through education sessions and time spent completing administration duties under supervision as well as allocated study time to attend education sessions to complete the required qualification.
To carry out any other duties as required, and appropriate to the level of this post.
To work towards the completion and achievement of a Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service within 18 months of commencement
The job holder will be expected to contribute to the daily delivery of the service by ensuring all tasks assigned by the Team Leader are completed in as timely and efficient manner as possible. You will be expected to demonstrate a good standard of work ethic and commitment to the role.
To handle all enquiries in an effective, polite and efficient manner. This includes emails, telephone calls, and face to face.
The job holder will gain experience in engaging and interacting with patients and Health care providers across the board through dealing with people over the phone, via emails and face to face, ensuring that they are dealt with efficiently, in a timely, polite, and courteous manner.
Under the supervision of the Team Leader and guidance of the administrators the Apprentice will gain a basic level of training and understanding of the Patient Administration System and Electronic Patients Record.
Whilst the post does not guarantee permanent employment at the end of it, successful completion of the apprenticeship will equip the job holder with the necessary skills and experience required to apply for administrative positions within the NHS.
The job holder will be trained to use the relevant Trust I.T. systems and Patient Administration Systems / Electronic Patient Records (PAS/EPR) to access and retrieve data and update records accurately, under the supervision of the administrators.
