Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for facilitating play activities, supporting children's development, and ensuring their well-being during their time in our care. You will learn with our online platform Educationwise and diring your contracted weekly hours will be given six of these for apprenticeship time.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive environment.
- Manage behaviour in a constructive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play area to create an inviting space for children.
- Provide support to children with diverse needs, including those requiring additional assistance.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the childcare setting.
- Keep accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- A background in early childhood education is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with children and adults alike.
- Leadership qualities to guide activities and manage groups of children confidently.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting materials or assisting with outings.
- A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to inspire creativity in young minds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the service.
