Four Paws Apprentice Dog Groomer

THE ROLE

We are looking for true dog lovers to join our team!
As an Apprentice Dog Groomer you will receive a level 2 qualification in Dog Grooming, learning and earning as you go.
You will be responsible for ensuring our high standards of customer service and animal welfare are met at all times.
Your excellent communication skills will be fully utilised as you will be dealing with customers and their pets on a daily basis.
You will need to be confident around dogs of every shape and size with the ability to handle and care for them correctly.
The maintaining of accommodation is essential and a large part of the role is cleaning equipment.
You will assist in effectively managing the salon diary to maximise the number of appointments offered whilst delivering a quality service to our pets and their people.
Routine is key at Four Paws and you must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
You will be involved in ensuring our admin procedures are followed and be comfortable using IT.
The customer database will be constantly updated and each client’s details will need to be kept secure as per Four Paws data protection policy.
You will be a key support for the management team and have a proactive approach to any projects or developments in the company.
Our salons offer a great service 5 days per week and you will work 9am to 5pm in a regular shift with half an hour lunch break.
Throughout the role you will be trained in dog grooming and support others on their learning journey. Our team is made up of educators and experienced stylists to guide and mentor you.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have experience of dogs and their needs.
You must be reliable and punctual.
You will be commercially aware and understand the importance of offering a high standard of service.
You'll have a proven track record of delivering high standards in all aspects of your roles.
You enjoy a busy environment with lots of challenges.
You'll be a people person, have a real passion for pets as well as being a great team player.
You'll be hungry to be part of a successful team and proactive in your approach to the role.

THE BENEFITS

37.5 hours a week across 5 days.
Apprentice wage of £7.55 per hour for the first year, rising to NMW thereafter.
Studying for level 2 in Dog Grooming through a recognised apprenticeship provider.
