Being a dental nurse is much more than understanding the language of dentistry, it’s about helping and supporting patients through their dental procedures, it’s about being a significant part of a patients experience and playing an important role within a dental team who aim to provide the highest standards in dental care.
A dental nurse is required to be adaptive to the patient and team needs, they must be organised and responsible within their role in order to help provide a safe and effective environment. Must be organised and prepared with high energy levels in order to provide chair side assistance to the dentist and patient.

How to understand teeth charting
Understand the stages involved in planning dental procedures
How to prepare for all dental procedures
How to assist a dentist during all dental procedures
How to clean and sterilise dental instruments after use including all aspects of infection control in dentistry
How to coordinate dental appointments
How to process digital xrays
How to multitask
Reception administrative skills
The fundamental Safeguarding standards and how to identify all types of abuse
You will receive a level 3 diploma in dental nursing after 18 months of completing the apprentice course. Your theory will be delivered by an external course provider arranged by the practice. Your course provider will provide you online assignments and prepare you for your dental nursing exams which take place at the end of each dental module, your practical will be taught by us in the dental practice who will also support and encourage your learning.
The job is for 5 days a week.
