Description
We go to great efforts to make sure our apprentices are trained to the highest standards in the industry. Our apprenticeship scheme is a four-year programme, and you will be working towards the IMI Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance. During the apprenticeship, you'll be paired with a fully trained mentor to guide you through the programme and develop the skills to become a fully qualified PSV Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting, repairing and maintaining our buses.
- Investigating and diagnosing any mechanical and electronic faults.
- Recording those faults, and the work we’ve done to fix them, using a tablet.
- Following safety instructions and reporting any issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Must have good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively and have the confidence to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Must be punctual and meet deadlines whilst attending college and the workplace.
- Must be able to commit to a four-year training programme.
- Must have at least a Level 1 GCSE Grade 3 and above or Grade D and above in English and Maths.

Transport UK London Bus operates bus services across London on behalf of TFL, plus rail replacement and event services across the UK. We operate approximately 11 per cent of the capital's world famous red bus network, running around 950 vehicles and employing around 2,900 employees across six busy depots in Central, South and West London. We run a number of routes, carrying over 150 million passengers a year on TfL’s contracted bus network.
